Back to Basics with AECP All About Layering - Lesson 1
Updated: May 10, 2021
This my first blog post ever- it's nerve wrecking & exhilarating at the same time to start a blog. I was really tempted to hire a professional, but decided to crack it myself.
I am very excited to kick start my Altenew journey & posting my first project for the Altenew Educator Certification Programme. Since I want to map it chronologically, my first class ‘All about layering 1’ by Nicole Picadura, was a great tutorial to start with- going over the basics of using Altenew layering stamps. I usually create more complicated cards, but It's important to start a process from the basics.
I was surprised how gorgeous they turned out. For these cards, I wanted to go for a fresh look on a clean back ground to accentuate the technique.
ALL ABOUT LAYERING 1- PROJECT 1
CARD PROCESS OVERVIEW
Guidelines:- 1 step stamping + outline, all over design
For these cards I used the the Hibiscus Bouquet stamp set from Altenew. While making an all over layout, I always like to start off in the middle of the panel because it is the heart center and build the design around it.
The outlines were stamped with Altenew Jet Black ink and the colour palatte was identical to the tutorial. The images were easy to line-up with the layering guide available on Altenew's website.
To finish off, I die cut the 'thank you' sentiment with black card stock.
My gallery inspiration from the project comes from printed linen which we all love in India. We like everything printed from our kitchen towels to our shirt tunics & wrapping sheets.
In India, international crafting products are not very easily available. I specially want to thank Shalini from Crafters Corner for getting all the fabulous Altenew crafting products & encouraging me to do the program.
